My thoughts
Jen Lilley stars as Dr. Luna Gilson, a widowed surgeon from Seattle who's busy work schedule has made it difficult to spend time and connect with her son Andy.
Luna impulsively decides to take Andy to her family's pear orchard during his fall school break.
While there we watch as Luna reconnects with not only her child but her childhood memories. She finally spends time with her son and begins to see the joy in a slower paced life.
Luna's parents work out of the country so the farmhouse has been sitting empty while Will, played by Ryan Paevey, manages the farm.
Will and Luna's first meeting is rather contentious as they almost have a head on collision while driving on a one-way dirt road. Their second meeting is just as awkward when she sees him in her family's pear orchard and accuses him of being a pear thief.
Throughout the film we see Will sneaking around the farm, nervously looking around as he locks doors, and acts shifty. Turns out he's been secretly working on a hybrid fruit.
While I think Ryan Paevey does a good job playing a farmer, I have a difficult time believing Jen Lilley as a surgeon. She plays her part a little too wide eyed and smiley.
The story is a bit thin and there isn't much depth to the characters of Luna or Will. They have good chemistry, but I did feel like it was a bit forced at times.
The actor who plays Luna's son Andy is adorable and I enjoyed his interactions with all the adults in the movie. I also enjoyed the scenes of Luna trying to make a perfect pear cobbler.
This is a fall movie, so there's plenty of pumpkins, festivals, sweaters, and fake fall leaves to get you into the season.
In typical Hallmark fashion, the ending of the movie is wrapped up in a neat little bow after a contrived misunderstanding by the two main characters.

If all the pears and cobblers in the movie give you a hankering for a pear dessert, I highly suggest you try this healthier Gluten-Free Pear Tart recipe! So delicious!
Final rating
Although lacking in any real depth, "Harvest Love" is a lighthearted, easy to watch movie that will have you ready for pumpkin patches and cooler weather.
On a scale of 1 to 5, I give it a 3.5
