My thoughts on October Kiss
Love the character of Poppy! She's adorable, understanding, and fun!
Ryan is a widower who is kind but overwhelmed with work and being a single dad.
His kids are definitely grumpy and rude at first, but considering they don't seem to get any quality time with their only parent, it's understandable.
I love that when Poppy starts complementing the kids, Ryan immediately knows that she's going to quit.
The arguing between Zoey and Zack was both believable and funny.
Poppy and Ryan are quickly very comfortable with each other and their easy banter is very convincing and fun! Poppy doesn't hesitate to call Ryan out on his workaholic ways and she actively works towards helping him repair and build his relationship with his children.
The Halloween decorations are on point and are just perfect in this movie.
While I love the quick connection Poppy builds with Ryan, I also really enjoyed the effort she puts in with the kids.
Most unbelievable line!
"This broccoli is really good mom!" This line was said by Poppy's two young nephews to their mother and as a mother of two young kids myself, I giggled when I heard it!
Final Rating
I loved this movie from beginning to end! It was heartwarming, funny, and just plain FUN! I'd gladly see "October Kiss" over and over again!
On a scale of 1 to 5, I give it a 4.5
