The movie, "Royal Matchmaker" was released in 2018 as a part of the Hallmark Channel's Spring Fling programming. It was filmed in Romania and stars Bethany Joy Lenz and Will Kemp.
My thoughts
Royal movies are definitely my least favorite that Hallmark makes, so imagine my surprise when I came away actually liking this one. A lot!
You still have to suspend a fair bit of reality but overall, I found "Royal Matchmaker" to be charming and endearing.
As always, Bethany Joy Lenz is an absolute delight to watch and Will Kemp's character, while difficult to like at first, ends up being quite dashing.
I loved the chemistry between the prince and his matchmaker and found their conversations and interactions to be both believable and entertaining.
The setting was just beautiful, and I found myself wishing there were more scenes in the village and castle grounds.
Final rating
"Royal Matchmaker" is a fun, charming movie about two closed off individuals slowly opening themselves up to love. The chemistry between Lenz and Kemp was spot on and I can't wait to watch this one again!

Royal Matchmaker was very well written…butterflies…two time zones…unbelievable, really. The castle in Eastern Romania was a perfect setting. I have to think the town has become a tourist destination for sure.
