My Thoughts
I typically really enjoy Autumn Reeser Hallmark movies, and this one is no exception! She plays Julia while Eric Johnson plays cowboy Ben; and I really like the authenticity they bring to their roles.
The storyline is fun and flirty with one of the highlights for me being Julia's best friend and literal partner in crime, Sydney.
Sydney is a famous socialite who doesn't eat carbs, has a flare for the dramatic, and steals every scene she's in!
Julia is recently engaged and to be honest, it's hard to see what made her fall in love with Gavin to begin with. He's so dull and self absorbed!
She also doesn't seem very comfortable in his presence, which is in contrast to how laid back she is when around cowboy Ben.
The scenery is just stunning and makes me wish I lived in the mountains!
I really enjoyed watching how Julia seems to find herself and her true purpose while serving her 30 days community service for the crime of breaking a statue of the towns founder.
Loved the scene of Julia and Ben in the barn brushing the horses. They had such a deep, heartfelt talk and could really relate to each other.
The auction at the end was cute and I thought the end scene was just perfection!
Funniest Lines
"Cowboys and a dance floor? See ya!"
"I just saw a spider in there larger than my Gucci clutch."
Final Rating
I loved this movie from beginning to end! It had me laughing out loud numerous times and I loved the chemistry between Julia and her leading man Ben as well as Julia and her best friend Sydney! I'd happily watch "Valentine Ever After" over and over again!
On a scale of 1 to 5, I give it a 4
