    Plot summary and other info!

"New York accountant Emma Colvin is heartbroken when her boyfriend leaves her before their planned romantic getaway to Belgium for Valentine’s Day. Convinced by a friend to go alone on the trip, Emma has the adventure of a lifetime when her Belgian innkeeper introduces her to renowned chocolatier, Luc Simon. Luc and his fellow chocolatiers are in the midst of a competition to create the most romantic chocolate in Belgium for the upcoming Belgian royal wedding. He discovers her kitchen skills and soon she’s immersed in the competition and a budding romance develops."

Released in 2019 as a part of Hallmark Channel's Valentine's Day programming, "Love, Romance, & Chocolate" stars Lacey Chabert and Will Kemp.

    Warning, spoilers ahead!

Where was "Love, Romance, & Chocolate" filmed?

One of the highlights of this movie for me was the beautiful location!

Unlike most Hallmark movies, "Love, Romance, & Chocolate", was shot on location in Belgium, specifically Bruges, Brussels, and Ghent.

    My thoughts

Even though there's nothing in particular that stands out about this Hallmark movie, I still think it's one of their better films.

The pacing is slow and steady, the scenery is gorgeous, and the chemistry between the characters is spot on.

After being dumped by her boyfriend, Emma decides to take their planned vacation to Bruges, Belgium on her own. She's most excited to visit the palace, which is where her grandparents first met years ago, unfortunately the palace is not allowing visitors ahead of the royal wedding.

The initial meeting between Emma and Luc is adorable with Emma being a typical tourist by trying to get Luc to move out of her way so she can take a picture. He pretends not to understand English and Emma is later mortified when she realizes he does in fact know English and understood her mutterings of how cute he was!

Luc is a well-known chocolatier who has entered a competition to create the most romantic chocolate for the upcoming royal wedding.

Once Emma realizes all of the competing teams are able to visit the royal palace, she offers Luc her assistance in creating unique chocolates.

I loved watching Emma and Luc get to know each other while working. Lacey Chabert and Will Kemp bring a real authenticity to their characters.

Luc is a bit resistant at first to Emma's out of the box flavor combinations, but he eventually comes around together they come up with some pretty delicious sounding chocolates.

There's also a lovely nighttime compilation of the two of them walking and boating around Burges.

The chocolates and cupcakes in the movie look incredible! I'm warning you now, you're to be craving something sweet while watching this!

Really the only aspect of the movie that I didn't feel was necessary was the rival chocolatier trying to woo Emma away from Luc.

    Final rating

I loved pretty much everything about this movie and would gladly watch it again and again.

    On a scale of 1 to 5, I give it a 5
