In the movie "Bridal Wave", an unenthusiastic bride is set to marry her boss, but she ends up finding her perfect match just days before her wedding.
Plot summary and other info
" As her wedding day draws near, Georgie Dwyer (Arielle Kebbel) has doubts surrounding her plans to marry Dr. Phillip Hamilton (David Haydn-Jones), a dashing and prominent plastic surgeon. Though Phillip qualifies as the "perfect" fiancé, Georgie feels a romantic spark is missing in their relationship. Tensions rise even further when Phillip's sophisticated mother, Felice (Jaclyn Smith), blatantly frowns upon Georgie's working class origins. On the picturesque island, Georgie keeps finding herself in chance encounters with Luke Griggs (Andrew W. Walker), a handsome ex-architect, who walked away from a high-end architectural firm to enjoy a simple, no-frills life. When an undeniable chemistry develops between Georgie and Luke, Georgie must decide if she's going to move ahead with her rapidly approaching marriage to Phillip."

My thoughts
While the story is pretty typical of the movies Hallmark Channel pumps out; girl is with the wrong guy but ends up finding the "right" one and falls in love in 2 days, it's still enjoyable, which is mostly due to the cast.
Arielle Kebbel plays Georgie, a young, down to earth nurse who seems apathetic about her upcoming nuptials to her boss, a famous plastic surgeon.
David Hayden-Jones plays her fiance Phillip, who honestly seems just as apathetic as Georgie is about getting married.
It's clear from the get-go that these two are just not meant to be, I'll list just a few of the waving red flags.
Georgie has handed over complete creative control of the wedding to her mother. The only stipulation was to not go over board.
Not only does Phillip have a conference scheduled for his wedding weekend, but he gladly leaves the resort on the morning of his wedding rehersal to go to the office and fix a patients nose job.
He also shows no signs of jealousy when Luke, played perfectly by Andrew Walker, is very obviously showing his affection to Georgie.
Speaking of Luke, he and Georgie have an adorable first meeting at a drug store where they both argue over the last bottle of aspirin.
At one point, Luke tells Georgie that she has the look of someone who's about to go to the dentist instead of someone who's about to get married! It's a pretty funny exchange!
Where Phillip is an uptight workaholic who has nothing in common with Georgie's family, Luke is easy-going and quickly bonds with Georgie's dad over fishing and baseball.
There are quite a few funny moments sprinkled throughout the film and Georgie throws out a couple of amusing puns, which I loved!
Jaclyn Smith plays Felice, Phillip's snobby mother who makes it very clear that she does not approve of Georgie or her family (another red flag that their union is doomed before it even begins).
On a side note, can we talk about how amazing Jaclyn Smith looks?! She's certainly had plastic surgery at some point but wow! She looks just as beautiful as she did in Charlie's Angels back in the '70s!
I thought the chemistry between Luke and Georgie was spot-on and I loved their interactions and easy banter.
We get a couple of intimate moments between them throughout the film and I found it all to be completely believable.
To be fair though, I think Andrew Walker could have chemistry with a tree and it would be believable!
It's a Hallmark movie, so we all know how it's going to end, but nevertheless I enjoyed the journey getting there.
Most memorable line
"I decided to wait until I found that man I could annoy for the rest of my life."
Final rating
I really enjoyed "Bridal Wave"! It was funny, romantic, and I loved the chemistry between the two lead actors. I will happily watch this movie over and over again.
On a scale of 1 to 5, I give it a 4.
